A two-part documentary on the illegal immigrants who, seeking a new life in Italy, land in Sicily. In the first part, two characters of everyday but extraordinary altruism, a priest and a volunteer, have created a network of hospitality and assistance for the illegal immigrants who arrive on an almost daily basis. In the second part, the story of the shipwreck on the night of Christmas 1996 off the coast of  Porto Palo, with an interview with Giovanni Maria Bellu, author of the book “The Ghosts of Porto Palo”.
